For the last month, Shamay Pitt has been unable to feel parts of her body and is still in a wheelchair because she can't walk. The 23-year-old is also mentally traumatized after the incident. "Someone who I thought would keep me safe ended up being the person who really hurt me," Pitt said. Ticketmaster customers booted despite prepaid parking near Buckhead Theater

(Atlanta News First) - Concertgoers who prepaid for parking through Ticketmaster found their cars booted at a Buckhead Theater show despite having valid parking receipts. The incident occurred in late August after a Chris Fleming comedy performance at the Buckhead Theater on Roswell Road. About a dozen people purchased tickets through Ticketmaster and used the app's prepaid parking option for the closed IHOP parking lot on Peachtree Road. According to bodycam footage from Atlanta police, Empire Parking Services (EPS) booted approximately a dozen vehicles during the show's 2:30 p.m. performance, leaving attendees stranded for about an hour and a half. Woman sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing husband, DeKalb County DA says

The district attorney said Iesha Zenobia Harmon, 45, shot and killed her husband on Sept. 19, 2022. Police responded to their Decatur home, where they found Iesha's husband, Shedrick Harmon, with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries. Iesha Harmon initially told investigators that she had accidentally shot her husband, but the district attorney said "text messages between the couple and accounts from friends and family indicate a history of violence, drug and alcohol use, and infidelity in the relationship. Peachtree City man sentenced for Medicare fraud conspiracy

Patrick Moore Jr., 48, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States in May. He will spend 46 months in prison and pay more than $7.2 million in restitution, the department announced on Tuesday. Moore operated a network of recruiters who persuaded Medicare recipients to undergo unnecessary genetic testing. According to the Justice Department, he then received about $4.3 million in kickbacks and bribes from co-conspirators for referring insurance information and other data, which he used to pay the recruiters. Moore also used fake invoices to document false hours worked, covering the referral payments that violated the Anti-Kickback Statute. Chamblee Publix closing permanently, company says

The location closes on the same day as the Publix in Atlantic Station. Both stores are small by Publix's standards " the Atlantic Station location is around 30,000 square feet, while the Chamblee location is less than 29,000 square feet. In comparison, most Publix locations are almost 48,000 square feet. This location is off Shallowford Road near I-85 in DeKalb County. Publix did not give a reason for the closures. Representatives said shuttering the Atlantic Station location was a "difficult decision" and noted that there are five other Publix stores within two miles of the Chamblee location.
